OnePlus 3 :
OnePlus 3 is launching today worldwide but all the relevant details that matter have been officially confirmed through a newspaper ad by OnePlus hours before the launch and also the pricing for the 64GB variant in india has also been revealed. So lets start with the design.
The Oneplus 3 features an all metal anodized aluminum body design that is reminiscent of The HTC One lineup from the past and also The Huawei Honor 5X. Upfront there is a fingerprint scanner located at the bottom chin of the screen, the top chin hosts the usual array of earpiece, sensors and the front facing camera. The standard 3.5mm headphone jack, USB C port and the single speaker grill sit at the bottom edge of the device. Turning back we have the oneplus logo in the middle and camera module with a slight bump positioned above the logo with a single LED flash right below it. The antenna lines run in the top and bottom of the back of the device. The left edge contains the alert slider carried forward from the OnePlus 2 along with the volume rockers and the right edge contains the power buttons. There is nothing on the top. The phone is available in soft gold and graphite colors.
Coming to the specs department The OnePlus 3 uses the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, The snapdragon 820 coupled with a whopping 6GB of DDR4 Ram, 64GB of internal storage thats non-expandable, A Full-HD Optic AMOLED display with a pixel density of 401ppi protected by Gorilla Glass 4, 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera with phase-detection auto focus and OIS while the front camera uses electronic image stablisation and it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on top of Oxygen OS, which is pretty much stock android except for a few useful additions and powering it all is a 3000mAh battery that supports Dash Charging which is oneplus’s implementation of fast charging at 5v and 4 amps. The phone also supports Dual-Sim capabilities and VoLTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band (MIMO).
So the main selling points of the device are the AMOLED display and 6GB of ram however the performance and the cameras will basically determine the worth of this device. The OnePlus 3 falls right in line with The LeMax 2 and The Xiaomi Mi5 and has to compete in that price segment and this device cant excite most people just through sheer specs. what determines this device success is its day to day usability and its camera performance. Lets just hope it goes well for oneplus and that consumers get a great device to use and for the price of 27,999 it has a lot going for it and oh by the way OnePlus ditched the invite system, sales start on June 15 by 12:30 am.
