Google Tez – Mobile payments app for India

Google Tez :

Until now, Paytm is the most used payment app in India for any services you take. Now, Indians have one more app to choose from when easy mobile payments are considered. No matter if it is Movie tickets or bills or whatever transaction which is done online.

Today, Google unveiled its latest app called “Tez” which is the first payments app made for the Indian market by Google. The meaning behind the name Tez means fast in Hindi which is considered to be one of the important features of this app.

Google Tez is available on Android & iOS and is powered by UPI ( A payments protocol built and backed by Government organization NPCI).

About the Google Tez app :

The Google Tez payments app supports various local languages like Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telegu, and Tamil which makes it more easier to use no without any language barrier.
The UI or User Interface is straightforward and very simple to use. If you already have a UPI account, it wont take more than 1 minute to connect Google Tez with UPI app. It just asks for your UPI pin which you use it to login into UPI and done, thats all. The payments which you make will be done directly via the bank account you have connected.
Talking about the bank account, there are lots of options meaning, almost all banks are there.

And there’s a lot of misconception that Google Tez is similar to PayTM. For your information, this is not a wallet like PayTM where you can add balance and store it in your wallet. This is more like tap to pay or Apple’s wallet where the amount directly pays from your bank account.

Once you download the app, you are asked to login with your phone number and choose your gmail ID which you want to register with Google Tez.



Google tez supported banks
On the Top left below your user name, you have an option to add the bank. Once you click on that, you should select your bank and if the bank is already registered with UPI, you are prompted to enter your phone number that is registered with the same bank. With that you can login in less than one minute or do the whole procedure you did in UPI if you haven’t registered already.

Once you add your bank, you will be asked to enter the UPI PIN to connect Google Tez with UPI
