Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL review

Zenfone 3 Max :

Talking about the marathon battery series in smartphone, the well known ones are from Gionee. Asus has taken a step further and where it has its own marathon battery smartphones as ‘Max’ series.

The Zenfone 3 Max is the predecessor to the Zenfone Max 2016 which has a little extra refreshed design, processing power while maintaining the Super long battery life.

The Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL is a sub Rs. 15,000 smartphone which aims at delivering its super long battery life as well as the premium design.

Zenfone 3 Max Design & Build :

The first change to the Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL is the refreshing design when compared to its previous model. The full metallic body and the 2.5D curved glass adds some premium look to it. The buttons are lined up in a convenient way which feels easy and ergonomic.

The Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL has gone with the 5.5 inch full HD IPS display which produces sharp pictures and the brightness even under well lit condition is amazing. The slim bezels with 2.5D curved glass can sometimes be irritating when you use the smartphone single handed.

The Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL has a hybrid sim slot meaning you can use dual sim cards or a sim and a memory card. The phone supports memory card upto 128GB. The Phone has a monospeaker at the bottom and theres a bright LED notification light at the top. The navigation buttons are not backlit.

Behind the phone is the finger print sensor and the camera along with dual LED tone flash.

The Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL is powered by a 1.4Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 3GB of RAM which gives it enough power and juice for multi-tasking & extended battery.

The Zenfone 3 max comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. The SIM slot being hybrid slot, it can be either dual SIM card or a SIM and a microSD card.

The fingerprint scanner is instant and fast which can be used to attend the calls, launch the camera app and do more. Sometimes the fingerprint sensor can get slow which can be avoided by giving more pressure to unlock the phone using the finger print scanner.

The Zenfone 3 max has a 16MP rear camera along with f/2.0 aperture and laser auto focus. Electronic image stabilization is present for the video.

Zenfone 3 Max Software :

The Asus Zenfone 3 max runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box with the Asus’s own ZenUI 3.0 on top of it. The ZenUI 3.0 when compared to the previous ZenUI is lot more cleaner and bloatware free.

ZenUI 3.0 has lots of features. It allows lots of customization and various motion gestures like double tap to wake up, flip the phone to reject the call and more.

The Zenfone 3 max is a premium looking device with huge battery at a budget price. It has fantastic battery life and thats the sole purpose of the max series. The Zenfone 3 max is priced at Rs.16,000 – Rs.17,000 on various Indian eCommerce websites.
